It was observed and identified by Wilhelm Reich for the first time during the ORANUR experiment in January 1951.

It occurs when there is an interference in the free pulsation and free movement of orgone energy in living systems, both at the microsystem level (such as a human cell) and at the macrosystem level (the Earth's atmosphere). Its presence fuels the interruption of the energy continuum.

It has a great affinity with water which it attracts towards itself causing dehydration or the disintegration of the water itself. Also in this case the dehydrating effect occurs both at the microsystem level and at the macrosystem level.

It usually has a dark coloration even black. This can be observed directly in Doric clouds and indirectly through secondary products of its presence such as the formation of T bacilli,[1] the Reich autoclave test and other putrefaction processes.

When it combines with water and other liquids it produces acidity in them.

In the atmosphere it produces acidification and ozonation.

In the human body:
DOR occurs when there is a blockage in the energetic pulsation. The blockage can be caused by chronic tension-contractions due to emotional trauma or acute due to shock, accidents or surgical interventions not followed by a rebalancing at the energetic level. The DOR thus produced contrasts with the reestablishment of the energetic continuum and vital functions.

Kavouras (2005) mentions the fact that DOR is very fixed to the nervous system, probably due to its prevalent consistency of water.

DOR, in this sense, can interfere with the functioning of the nervous system (for example producing epidermal insensitivity or hypersensitivity; distortion of perceptive and kinesthetic functions). It has been shown that nerve damage can be recovered through the absorption of DOR that prevents regeneration and that continues to form due to the interruption of the nervous pulsation.

Any type of edema represents an accumulation of DOR. Reich (1955) wrote about this:

In these and many other cases of a similar nature, the living organism perpetuates the integrity of the organs by the exclusion of the affected part which has not been strong enough to resist or sustain itself against the dying process. Death is thus confined locally, but represents a threat of destruction to the entire organism. We may reasonably infer that where a disease affects one organ, before attacking the entire organism, the orgone energy is immobilized locally, producing stagnant energy. The unity of the organism is interrupted. The edema which typically accompanies inflammations of the liver, tumorous processes in the stomach, or minor disorders such as gingivitis, or swelling after excessive drinking, is the vivid expression and direct evidence of the immobilization of the vital energy in the affected part. The edema is caused by the cessation of the circulation of fluids. This cessation of flow is the direct result of the immobilization of the driving force, the organismic orgone energy.

Kavouras also claims that the dissolution of tumors can generate edemas due to the release of DOR. Edemas that develop following a strong blow and followed by bruises also represent a sudden accumulation of DOR. These can be easily reabsorbed with one or more treatments with the dorbuster. Another important fact is that Dr. Walter Hoppe, a disciple of Reich, who used the dorbuster for a period without using the necessary precautions, developed a lymphedema on the arm with which he handled the device during the treatments (Kavouras, 2005).

It produces dehydration and acidity. This can be easily proven because:
1) Diseases that are accompanied or even generated by the consistent presence of DOR also present a state of general acidity;​ 2) the orgone accumulator and the dorbuster by eliminating the dor and re-establishing a greater energetic pulsation also have an alkalizing effect on the organism.
Even recent studies on the use of alkaline water demonstrate a great affinity between its healing power and that of orgone irradiation and DOR absorption (see the book "Alkalize and Ionize Yourself: To Live Healthy and Long-Lived, by T. A. Baroody and R. Palmisano). In addition, to produce alkaline water, acid water is also produced and it would be interesting to investigate further affinities between the properties of this (which also has healing properties) and those of the water that comes out of a dorbuster.

It can cause a gray coloration of the skin as Reich already mentioned. Lassek (1991) when he began to notice the limits in the exclusive use (without dorbuster) of ORAC in serious cases of cancer, noted how the dor that invaded the organism of a patient colored the skin of the face gray.

It influences cellular DNA compromising especially the reproductive function of the cell, linked to the guanine of the DNA, causing a vibratory fall of the energy linked to the metal ions (Navarro, 1997).

It can be mobilized through the acting of character-analytic vegetotherapy (Navarro, 1997) and in general through any external intervention that dynamizes the organismal pulsation at an emotional-energetic level. This process in the energetically weak organism or with strong pulsatory blocks must be treated with great caution because it can produce a biopathic eruption that can even lead to the formation of a tumor.
